DUBAI’s beloved multicultural festival, Global Village, concluded its record-breaking Season 29 on Sunday with a sensational celebration featuring fireworks, music, and a vibrant crowd of visitors.

Having opened its gates on 16th October 2024, the destination offered seven months of family-friendly experiences, bringing together the best of global culture, food, shopping and entertainment in one place.

The park welcomed millions of visitors during the season, offering a dazzling mix of 30 pavilions representing over 90 cultures. On the final day, families flocked to the venue, drawn by an irresistible mix of free entry for children and a Dh50 all-access pass for rides – a crowd-pleasing offer that sparked queues and Instagram-worthy moments across the venue.

Family festivities

As the sun dipped, the excitement rose. Colourful fireworks lit up the Dubai skyline, while the sounds of laughter, music, and cheers echoed through the grounds. From thrilling rides to street performers and cultural displays, there was no shortage of ways to enjoy the finale. Foodies tucked into last-minute favourites – from spicy Indian street snacks and Turkish delights to Lebanese grills and classic Emirati sweets.

Children giggled their way through games and rides at Carnaval, while parents soaked up the final moments of the festive atmosphere. The grand farewell was more than just a goodbye – it was a statement that Global Village remains a cornerstone of Dubai’s seasonal family fun.

Cultural celebration

What began in 1997 as a cluster of modest kiosks has grown into a massive celebration of global diversity. This year’s edition featured over 175 rides, attractions and games, from high-octane roller coasters to gravity-defying swings and VR simulators. Meanwhile, live performances and interactive installations kept the spirit of cultural fusion alive throughout the venue.

The extended season – announced via Global Village’s official social media platforms – gave visitors a few bonus weeks to explore its global offerings. The news sparked excitement among regulars and tourists alike, who welcomed the chance to make more memories before summer arrived.

End of Season buzz

Global Village has long been more than a theme park. It's where generations gather, cultures mix, and the world feels just a little smaller. The finale reminded everyone why it remains one of the UAE’s most anticipated annual events. From traditional performances to futuristic rides, every corner was buzzing with joy, discovery, and a sense of unity.

As the final firework faded into the night sky and the last bite of kunafa was savoured, the message was clear – Season 30 is next. See you at Global Village later this year, with even more to explore, experience and celebrate.
